Our Library
Lewis Library is both a historic library and a working community library in Glasgow, Missouri. We are located in the historic building built through the generosity of Benjamin Lewis, who amassed a fortune by raising hemp and tobacco before the Civil War.

Today, we serve patrons of the Glasgow area with a large collection of books and magazines. We also offer E-books through Missouri Libraries2Go and have computers on site for our patrons.

Our historic building was the home of Lewis College and is the oldest continuously operating public library building west of the Mississippi and the second oldest public library in Missouri.
